Safe Distancing
Safe Management Measures for COVID-19
The COVID-19 situation in Singapore has stablised and this gives us confidence to proceed with further easing of Safe Management Measures (SMMs) and Safe Distancing Measures (SDMs) for the community.
Group sizes - There is no longer a group size limit. There is also no cap on the number of unique visitors per household per day.
Mask-wearing - From 29 August 2022, mask-wearing is no longer required in indoor settings except for settings where essential services are carried out in enclosed and crowded areas, and which are frequently used by vulnerable persons. Mask-wearing remains optional in outdoor settings.
Safe Distancing - Safe distancing is no longer required between individuals or between groups.
Vaccination-Differentiated SMMs (VDS) - VDS is no longer required from all settings, except for events with more than 500 participants at any one time, nightlife establishments where dancing among patrons is one of the intended activities, and F&B establishments, including restaurants, coffeeshops and hawker centres.
As we continue to transition to a COVID-19 resilient nation and ease our SMMs, the number of Safe Distancing Ambassadors (SDA) deployed daily will consequently be scaled down gradually to allow more SDAs return to the workforce as the economy reopens. Agencies will continue to remain vigilant and ready to respond to egregious violations, as well as new developments (e.g. new variants of concern, new disease).
We urge everyone to remain socially responsible and vigilant even as we take strides towards normalcy.
Remember – you are the first line of defence
It is important to practise safe distancing and maintain good personal hygiene as we go about our daily lives, so that we can reduce the risks of transmission in the community.
